Mother's Day gift Idea

Shopping for a great Mother's Day gift is so easy at ESN. There are so many ecrater sellers that offer a very wide variety of products that you are sure to find the perfect item for your Mother. I know I always check out Eccentric Thrifter because she offers a great variety of jigsaw puzzles and my Mom loves those puzzles. She will work the same puzzle numerous times so we are always looking for new puzzles to give her. I sometimes try to be sneaky and get a really hard looking one but it doesn't stump her, she gets them all done no matter how hard it is. I just found this SPRINGBOK Jigsaw Puzzle CANDY GALORE which looks hard to me but I bet my Mother will have it put together in no time at all!

Feel free to stop by ESN and check out all the wonderful items for sale. We welcome store owners and shoppers to join!

Growing Banana Peppers

Our blog topic this week on ESN is about gardening. I decided to try something different this year and planted some banana peppers from seeds in a large planter. So far so good, they have come up but are still just tiny plants. While I'm waiting on them to grow I have been searching the unique items for sale from ecrater store owners at ESN in hopes to find something that will hold all the peppers that I am expecting. I found this Waikiki Woods of Hawaii Wooden Accent Dish from Le Petit Marche. I'm thinking this wooden dish would look wonderful piled high with banana peppers, let's just hope I am able to produce enough to fill it!

A spoonful of Enchiladas

Our recent blogging topic on ESN was spoonful and everyone sure had a tough time finding something to do with a spoon. I didn't find a spoon either but I found a beautiful Anchor Hocking Fire-King Gay Fads Fruits Loaf Pan from Carolinabluelady that would certainly hold at least a spoonful of the new enchilada casserole recipe that my husband and I came up with last night. Carolinabluelady has a great selection Kitchen Collectibles in her ecrater store and I love stopping by there just to see what is new and possibly picking out something special for the next kitchen experiment that we try.

And if you are curious about the experiment, it was a hit. Super quick and tastes wonderful, just like real enchiladas, much faster than rolled enchiladas and as my husband says ”It all gets mixed up anyway!”
Here's our experimental recipe: (we experiment a lot and never measure)

  Quick and Easy Enchilada Casserole

1 package enchilada seasoning mix (IE: McCormick, Lawry's)
1 can Snap-E-Tom
1 cup water
1 lb. taco meat (we used around 1 ½ lb.)
1 cup diced onion
1 diced jalapeno – or less if you prefer (seeds removed)
16 corn tortillas (cut in strips)
shredded cheese (who measures cheese? - we used lots)

1. Add seasoning mix, snappy and water to sauce pan and once heated and dissolved simmer for at least 5 minutes. (we did not do the directions on the mix – just used the mix in the snappy and water)
2. Make your taco meat - cook hamburger meat in skillet and season with your favorite taco seasonings.
3. Saute onion and jalapeno in oil until tender and then add tortilla strips to heat and soften.
4. Dump everything and half your cheese into a 9 x 13 baking pan, mix it all up and top with remaining cheese. Bake at 375 until cheese melts, around 15 to 20 minutes.

I found a Bargain

Our weekly scavenger hunt topic on ESN this week is Bargains and I found this great three piece Kitchen Canister Set from Sirocco's Curios.
This is a three piece air tight white ceramic kitchen canister set. The flip open cover has a silicone gasket and a latching mechanism to create an air tight seal. They even each have a handy spoon on the side. Great bargain for keeping your dry goods handy.
Stop by Sirocco's Curios for this and many more bargains! Feel free to visit ESN and I'm sure you will find many bargains from fellow eCrater store sellers!

Vinyl Family Tree Kit is a Bargain

This week our blogging theme at ESN is to write about a BARGAIN and have I got a bargain for you. (How come I suddenly feel like a used car salesman?) Have you seen those cut vinyl wall graphics of a really tall tree, at least 5 feet tall, with lots of branches and leaves and costs at least $100 bucks or more? Yes they are expensive because they use a lot of materials to cover that much space but our alternative to that "look" is our NEW Family Tree Kit. At less than half the cost of those big trees you can get the look of a full tree using your own photos and placing the branches and other pieces included in the kit to fill the area out. If you have a big wall above your sofa this arrangement would be great! I created the sample arrangement and the area of space that it fills is 57 inches wide by 54 inches tall.

Still need a tall tree, no problem, just arrange your photos and pieces of the Family Tree Kit and you have a tree arrangement that covers a space 74 inches tall by 34 inches wide! (as shown below)

The decorating possibilities are endless with this cut vinyl Family Tree Kit and because of the versatility of this kit we are really excited to be able to offer it! Feel free to stop by our eCrater store, Walls That Talk, and view all our pre-designed vinyl wall quotes and wall art. Thanks for stopping by.

Green or Brown

Well I'm going to try my thumb again, I planted some flower seeds earlier this year and they are actually coming up. They are just little tiny leaves but at least they are still green! I really, really want some Daisies to put in a vase for my table so I have been shopping for vases at ESN while waiting on the flowers to grow. I found this beautiful Fenton Silver Crest White Milk Glass Vase from Carolinabluelady. I'm thinking that would be perfect for spring flowers!

Am I putting my cart before the horse? Well maybe but keep your fingers crossed and hopefully I'll need lots of vases to hold the bunches of flowers that I grow!
Be sure to stop by ESN and browse the items for sale from fellow ecrater store owners, you might find exactly what you are looking for too!

Looking for my Prince

While I was searching for a frog related item for our ESN weekly scavenger hunt blog topic, I kept thinking of a Princess in search of her Prince and if she could find a frog to kiss we would both be happy. Even though my travels thru the items for sale from fellow eCrater store owners did not produce many frogs I did stumble upon this so cute Irish Princess T-Shirt for sale from Embroidery Fashions Boutique

Embroidery Fashion Boutique has so many custom embroidered designs that are done so beautifully it is hard to pick a favorite but I'm sure you can find something in their store that will be perfect for you! As for the Irish Princess kissing a frog, perhaps this one will have to kiss a blarney stone and hope for the best!

What are little boys made of?

Frogs and snails and puppy-dogs' tails, that's what little boys are made of and it fits right in with our blog theme for this week at ESN. We happen to have a vinyl wall quote that is part of this well known nursery rhyme! Our Baby Boy Vinyl Wall Collage can be found in our eCrater store, Walls That Talk.

While preparing for our Moon themed scavenger hunt at ESN this week I ran across this beautiful Moon Landing Commemorative Plate. This plate is offered for sale by HazelsHodgePodge and is described as a 10 inch Texas Ware, melamine plate commemorating moon landing and featuring Apollo 7 -17.
This is such a unique collector item and would make a wonderful gift for anyone into star gazing or history of the space programs.
